Csaba Szabó

Csaba Szabó is the manager of Helóta Biokert, where field and greenhouse cultivation is carried out. In the garden he starts the year with spring cold-tolerant species, but the main focus is on peppers and tomatoes.

His farm covers an area of around 1500 square metres, where he uses a rotary cultivator, with or without minimum tillage. He grows and processes around 40 varieties of peppers and 60-70 varieties of tomatoes. He also produces fermented vegetables, mainly from oriental species such as Chinese kale, pak choi and takana.

Csaba Szabó keeps an organic garden in balance in the face of climate change. He perseveres even when plants and animals struggle to survive during heat waves that last for weeks. For him, it is wonderful to experience the communication between plants, to vibrate with the biochert, to make it live as it makes him live. He believes in the power of the cycle, which is life itself.

Csaba Szabó's work and life is based on the love of nature, sustainability and respect for the circle of life.
