Víg Vitália
As the founder of Terravitka (www.terravitka.com), Víg Vitália is committed to revitalising soils and contributing to a world where nutritious and healthy food from living soil is available to all.
As Terravitka's lead trainer and consultant, he supports farmers and gardeners with knowledge transfer and mentoring related to soil life, soil health, composting and regenerative agriculture. He is able to translate complex scientific findings into accessible language for a wider audience, bridging the gap between science and practical application. With decades of teaching experience, he is a regular invited speaker at conferences, workshops and university courses. He mentors many farmers in the process of transitioning to regenerative agriculture.
As the Soil Restoration Farmers Association's Education Programme Officer, he helps to promote the educational work of the organisation. Another NGO, Vackor Environment and Nature Association, is the national leader of a climate-smart soil management education programme under the C-FARMS international project.
Vitália received her first degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Veszprém, then went to the University of Maryland, USA, to study Soil and Water Management. The Soil Food Web movement, led by Elaine Ingham, opened up the wonderful world of soil biology to her. One of her main professional mentors and inspirations is her former professor Ray Weil, who pioneered regenerative agriculture in the US and laid the foundation on which we can build today. And as a skilled permaculture designer and educator, he brings a holistic perspective to his work that allows him to put soil challenges into a broader context.
